September 2008 Going Green How Going GREEN Can Save You GREEN
Introduction by Juan Restrepo
I’ve never truly considered myself a tree-hugger, but I am a stickler for waste. My wife can attest to that. Case in point, I will use every last sheet of paper-towel on a roll, where Sharon will dispose of the roll leaving the last sheet still attached. I tell her that the sheet is perfectly capable of doing the same job the other sheets did, but she disagrees. I always turn off lights that are not being used. When I leave the house to run an errand, I check to see if there is anything else that can be done that is along the way. If I put my mind to it I am sure I could find a laundry list of others but I don’t want to bore you. Like I said before I don’t consider myself a tree-hugger, I just try to be more efficient in the way I do things, personally and in business. It just makes good sense.
Our current culture calls this being “Green”. Call it what you want, we asked some of our contributors to share with us how they have gone “Green”. This month’s REIP Contributor of the Month, Randall Wall, surely gave us an interesting perspective on going “Green” that I am sure you will appreciate. Jon Bolton also shares his whimsical “Green” natured self of going “Green” on the job. One of our newer contributors Adrian Alvarez shows how going “Green” can give you an edge in a tight rental market. Make sure you catch all the articles this month, they are exceptional.
